Music review by Rob Harrison
Those Roads is a song commissioned by the Irish Festival in 2023. The song marks the 175th anniversary of the great potato famine and tells the tale of the movement of the Irish people to England. This movement would continue through the country and eventually take many Irish refugees onward to the United States. The song uses the metaphor as a road as to people moving in various directions on their life journeys.
The musical credits read Úna Quinn Electronics and Vocals, Neil Campbell on Guitar. Úna is also present on excellent production duties which explore the various aspects of musical interplay between Neil’s fluid classical guitar and Úna’s vocal dynamics. Which reminds me slightly of the great Sinead O’Connor. They have an album out soon and can’t wait.
