La Feria – Latin America Lights Up The City

The energy and passion of Latin American culture has been a growing part of Liverpool life since the 80s. Music, dance and food serving up the tantalising flavours of the region in our theatres and streets. La Feria, now in its sixth year as a festival, adds storytelling, humour, rap and a lot more to the recipe. A range of exhilarating shows begins this Wednesday at the Unity Theatre and continues to the Philharmonic Hall Music Room, Museum of Liverpool Life and District in the Baltic Triangle.

The festival, established by Francisco Carrasco of Luma Creations, was also set up to engage with Liverpool’s people on a local level. and events will take place across the region to represent the vision of identity, struggle and community that Francisco had for the festival. Surrounding the main festival is a free photography exhibition at St George’s Hall celebrating the Latin American women who brought activism to their art forms and inspired generations across the globe.
