Actors are wanted for a play “Tramp and the Lady”, written by Bob Towers, to be performed at the Leverhulme Drama Festival, Port Sunlight in April 2024.
Reading and audition, Monday 12th February, 7pm at Valley Theatre, Childwall Valley Road, L27 3YA.
To be performed on Monday 15th April 2024 at the Leverhulme Drama Festival, Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight. Opportunity for best actor award etc.
Description: 30 minute play, 2 main characters, the tramp and lady of the title. One non speaking part, mugger.
Actor 1, Tramp: To look forty five plus, rough and ready.
Actor 2, Lady: to look 25 -35
Summary: Two people, at first seemingly at odds, become close through finding out about each other’s lives, over a period of train-waits. Tragic twist at the end, and character of Lady changes through experience of meeting Tramp.
Thoughtful, true to life, poignant. Dialogue and character driven. Good acting piece.
No preparation is needed for the audition. The play will be read and short excerpts handed out for actors to audition, and time will be given to prepare.
Rehearsals are likely to be Monday evenings, but can be negotiated.
