Artist Profile - Elia Sadiqi

I started to take photographs and shoot films years ago. I took my hobby more seriously after I watched some of my best friends executed for no reason by the Iranian regime.

During the past ten years, working as a photojournalist, graphic artist, film-maker and actor, I developed my focus on the ills in Iranian society, with regards to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and authoritarian regime.
This has led to my life being put in danger and I now live in the UK without a country.

I believe that my images are truthful and realistic, possessing a poetic and political edge.
