Rescue the Animal Rescue

Garston Animal Rescue is appealing for help after a major flood at its charity shop in Aigburth.
Following a flood from the flat above our shop we lost half our stock and had to close temporarily, losing a week’s takings. The landlord of the flat has refused to pay us any compensation. Garston Animal Rescue is a small charity, set up in 1984, to rescue sick, stray and unwanted animals, to give them essential veterinary treatment and, where possible, to rehouse them. We also spay feral cats to stop their numbers increasing and distribute information on animal welfare and the need to have animals neutered. Thousands of healthy cats and dogs are destroyed every week in Britain as there just aren’t enough homes, and the pet trade just adds to the problem.
We need funds for vets fees and animal food and also donations of quality second-hand goods for our charity shop. You could also help by volunteering for just a few hours a week in the shop, or just visit the shop for lots of great, cheap stuff! Most importantly, could you give a good home to a cat or kitten?
