Submissions on Cultural Research and Development

Artists, Performers, Curators, Art Historians, Writers.....whatever your role...

A collective of twelve artists and two researchers, each from Liverpool and New York are part of a cultural exchange in the research and development of the international contemporary arts forming transVoyeur, an Anglo American Cultural Initiative.

The Research is set on the creative process and cultural activity in both the cities. transVoyeur would like to invite you to submit your concepts of culture in the city, whether you are an artist of any practice or someone who frequents cultural venues and events.

Could you please forward your ideas on culture and the city to Gaynor Evelyn Sweeney (UK Projects Co-ordinator) GES1967@hotmail.com. Those who contribute to the dialogue of transVoyeur and actively participate in the development will automatically be considered in next year's selection for the programmes set for 2005 between Liverpool and New York.

You can submit any kind of reference material, whether it relates to:

  • Your philosophies on culture.
  • Examples of your art with an accompanying statement.
  • Your viewpoint on the city as a whole.
  • Issues surrounding the heritage of the city.
  • The history of the city.
  • Your opinion on the city's proposed regeneration.
  • The Liverpool European City of Culture Bid 2008.
  • The Liverpool Biennial 2004.
  • The 800th Anniversary in 2007 of Liverpool.

The debate is very open and relates overall to the temporal and spatial relevance of what manifests culture and the creativity in the city and your place within it.
