Launch of Red Dot

Red Dot Exhibitions, a new art organisation formed this year, and based in Liverpool, will be staging their first exhibition during the summer.

Set up by photographer Colin Serjent and painter Sue Milburn, who have both exhibited abroad, it will offer a platform for artists to exhibit and promote their work, initially in Liverpool, but later in other parts of England and in Europe.

Serjent was, until recently, Co-ordinator of Creative LETS, the artist network organisation, but left the post “because I wanted a fresh challenge.”

Milburn, who has also left Creative LETS steering group, is one of the artists travelling to Cologne at the end of April as part of the ‘Eight Days A Week’ art exhibition scheme run by Liverpool and the German city.

The first Red Dot exhibition, which will include works by Milburn, Serjent and photographer Michelle Burrows, together with pieces by other artists, to be confirmed, will be held at the Kif Gallery in Parr Street, which is situated adjacent to the former Jump Ship Rat Gallery. It runs from July 2nd - 23rd.

Red Dot are looking for artists to participate in future exhibitions that they are planning to stage. Red Dot have submitted an application to stage an exhibition in the Independent section of the 2004 Liverpool Biennial.
