Burjesta Theatre presents ‘Medea’

....a midnight mind and a sunless soul

The most shocking play from the Classical Greek Age from the pen of ‘that most tragic of tragedians’ - Euripides. Written in 431BC, Medea is a truly subversive play which has shocked and divided audiences for the last 2,500 years.

Medea, lover of Jason – of the Argonauts fame – has been abandoned by him for the King’s daughter and now faces exile for herself and her two young sons. But whosoever thinks Medea will passively accept her fate is dangerously mistaken.

Watch her, as she schemes to make just what is unjust, watch her as her mind creates an unimaginably terrible revenge.

Featuring an eight-strong all-women Greek Chorus and two child actors in an original adaptation by the poet and writer, Jonathon Bibby.
