As imaginative as the name suggests, this modest exhibition consisted
of four photographs each from three photographers. Simon Parker's monotone
exposures of landscapes were visually appealing and well composed, if
The next four photographs featured straightforward shots of modern buildings,
apparently taken in Manchester. They were matter of fact in their composition,
lacking style and content.
The last assortment of photographs employed partial colour: a technique
used to highlight a certain element in a photograph by removing the colour
from the rest of the frame. This technique is something of a cliché
in photography, and in this case, the use of it failed to enhance the
images, which were uninspiring and thus commensurate with the overall
If you have a keen interest in photography, then by all means have a
look, if only for a quick glance. The exhibition is conveniently located
at on Whitechapel at the 08 Place centre, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.
