Whether you like The Dictator or not depends on if you like your comedy
close to the bone or not. It stood out for me as one of only a few comedy
films that I have seen where there were a number of long pauses during
which I did not laugh.
This is not to say that there weren't some parts that I did not find
very funny. The whole idea of a totalitarian dictator falling in love
with a feminist activist is very funny in itself.
But the best part of the movie is towards the end when he gives a short
speech about democracy - hilarious!
Not the best film I have seen lately but it's woth viewing if only for
the democracy speech.
