Whether you like The Dictator or not depends on if you like your comedy close to the bone or not. It stood out for me as one of only a few comedy films that I have seen where there were a number of long pauses during which I did not laugh.

This is not to say that there weren't some parts that I did not find very funny. The whole idea of a totalitarian dictator falling in love with a feminist activist is very funny in itself.

But the best part of the movie is towards the end when he gives a short speech about democracy - hilarious!

Not the best film I have seen lately but it's woth viewing if only for the democracy speech.
