Nerve 4 Editorial

Hello and Welcome to Nerve 4.
Well Nerve seems to be going from strength to strength; we have a great team of committed people on board, getting out and about and covering important stories as well as darting around the city trying to cover every art event possible. We have people from all over the country and the Western World wanting advice on how they can 'do it themselves' and our website is getting better all the time, check it out for the latest film and art reviews www.cataystmedia.org.uk. But as always we can't be everywhere - and that is where the would be journalists and writers out there can come in - give us your stories, send us your reviews, let us know what's happening in your community.

Our aim is to produce Nerve four times a year. As always, despite having dozens of committed writers, artists and photographers, many of them unemployed, and despite being the prime independent arts and culture magazine on Merseyside and despite us being one of the only organisations that attempts to cover all grassroots arts events, plus living in a city that keeps on going on about city of culture, funding is hard to come by. So if there is anyone out there with some spare dosh push it our way and we assure you we will start producing more magazines. Anyway. On to more important stuff.

This issue as usual will be seen by some as controversial. We don't aim to be controversial, we only aim to cover the stories that we think are important, we hope to represent people who are often not listened to. Covering the stories that other media agencies won't touch, and offering a platform to people who have a lot to say, but have no media to say it through, is seen as controversial. At least to those who want to silence those voices.

In Nerve we aim to cover issues that may be affecting people's lives on a big scale, drugs, regeneration, anti social behaviour, justice or injustice, we aim to raise a few important questions and we welcome your responses. We believe that not dealing with these issues, can lead to very serious consequences.

We hope you enjoy this issue.
