Artist profile - Louise Spellacy

I have been taking photographs for several years. I like to portray faces, places and spaces. I use traditional methods as opposed to digital, I like the control that these methods allow and the craft skills that I can implement in the darkroom. I am impressed by the work of Andre Kertez, Faye Godwin, Minor White and John Blackmore. Took these photographs whilst visiting Cuba. I wanted to portray the warmth of the Cuban people. Havana seems initially such a vibrant city, yet there are quiet pockets of daily life and a welcome when you least expect it, bit like Liverpool ha?
