Artist Profile - Amy Scott-Samuel

With abstract photography, the image for me tends to evade any one given meaning and is free for the viewer to interpret on a highly subjective level.

Unusual shapes, strong colours, aspects of nature, decaying objects, architecture, patterns in the landscape, distorted light, reflections and shadows all serve as great fodder for my photographs.

I like that which is not immediately apparent, and takes a few moments to digest and make sense of.

Images and scenes of a surreal or dreamlike nature have a particular pull for me.
