Artist Profile - Tony Bishop

I like to work on larger pieces using wood to give that extra depth to my paintings.

I see art in everything and will use any materials I can obtain to get the effect I require.

Materials I use include wood, metal, denim, leather and various other types of found objects to create tone and texture in my work.

This helps give my paintings a unique contemporary and modern feel, which can look striking based in large spaces, such as urban living areas.

I will be having my first solo exhibition, titled 'Escapysm', in February 2010 at the Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery in St. Helens.

My work has also been shown in the HeadSpace Egg Cafe in Liverpool, the Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk and the Atkinson Gallery in Southport.
