Premiere of horror-comedy short Nightmare In Beige

Frightwig Productions presents the first screening of Liverpool shot horror-comedy short Nightmare In Beige at The Casa on Tuesday May 10th 2016

Frightwig Productions presents Nightmare In Beige - a short horror-comedy about Simon Aickman, the world's worst wimp. A tragic tale in the vein of Tales Of The Unexpected, the piece examines the withering psyche of a pathetic little man facing the terrors of the world alone.

Frightwig Productions' first short, the micro-budget film was shot on location in Liverpool in 2015. Taking inspiration from 1970's television horror anthologies horror and modern society's ever-growing sense of disconnection, the film dissects what it means to be a successful man in today's world.

Writer and director Craig Sinclair (who stars as Simon) has drawn upon real-life experiences as a depression-prone nervous man with nightmare neighbours to create a darkly funny and genuinely unsettling film.

Sinclair has worked on several animated shorts and music videos before but this is his first live action short film. Pop reconstructivists The Aleph have crafted a chilling and heartbreaking score around the grimy visuals to create a wonderfully evocative 1970's BBC mood.

Produced by Sonia Chapman, the film also stars Zoe Vaux, Ady Thompson, Anna Hudson, Barry Mason, Bruce De Jesus, Matthew Scott and Christine Corser.

The film is set to premiere on Tuesday May 10th at The Casa in Liverpool at a special event starting at 7pm. There will be live music and a Q & A session following the screening hosted by author David Hering.

Nightmare In Beige will be shown at The Casa Bar and Venue, 29 Hope Street, on Tuesday May 10th at 7pm
